Hull City earned three valuable points as they won 2-1 against Doncaster Rovers.
Doncaster provided some early danger in the 4th minute as Fejiri Okenabirhie's effort was blocked well by the City defence.

City created an opportunity themselves in the 10th minute when Mallik Wilks fired wide. The Tigers had a half chance in the 14th minute as Josh Emmanuel dragged his shot wide of the mark.
Josh Magennis put a header over the bar in the 18th minute as he got on the end of a Callum Elder corner. Magennis had another effort in the 22nd minute when he volleyed wide after he was picked out by a good cross from Mallik Wilks.
The Tigers took the lead in the 26th minute when Josh Magennis bagged his 6th league goal of the season with a brilliant effort which finished off a superb free kick routine after George Honeyman rolled the ball back to him.

City almost doubled their lead ten minutes later as they had three big chances. Greg Docherty's effort hit the post and was followed up by Hakeeb Adelakun who saw his shot blocked by Joe Wright. Mallik Wilks was then denied by a terrific save from Doncaster goalkeeper Joe Lumley.
The visitors threatened the City defence in the early stages of the second half. Josh Sims earned Doncaster a corner as his dangerous run was stopped by a Callum Elder tackle. The resulting corner saw Brad Halliday head the ball towards goal but it was cleared away by Josh Magennis.
City had an appeal for a penalty turned down by the referee in the 55th minute when Mallik Wilks went down in the Doncaster box after a challenge with Joe Lumley and subsequently received a yellow card for simulation. Joe Lumley had to react well to tip a George Honeyman corner over the bar in the 68th minute as it looked to be heading into the back of the net.
The Tigers looked dangerous yet again from a corner in the 73rd minute when Jacob Greaves headed wide. Keane Lewis-Potter nearly doubled City's lead in the 79th minute as his effort ended up going just wide of the mark.
City came close again in the 81st minute as Lewis-Potter laid the ball off to Josh Magennis who was denied a second goal of the game by a good save from Joe Lumley. Doncaster equalised in the 82nd minute thanks to a Tyreece John-Jules effort as he slotted home after a Josh Sims cross into the City box.
The Tigers retook the lead in the 87th minute when substitute Tom Eaves made an immediate impact and slotted home as Joe Lumley spilled the ball into his path after he saved Richie Smallwood's deflected effort.

City have moved four points clear of 2nd placed Lincoln City after this victory and they’ve also opened up a five point gap between themselves and 3rd placed Peterborough United.
